1. Scope of Services

These terms and conditions constitute the contract between you (the client) and us (The Ski Instructor Training Co., “SITCo”) for the provision of services related to ski/snowboard training, including both technical and theoretical instruction, accommodation, daily mountain transport, lift pass provision, and any other services as outlined within this document. Services provided by SITCo may include, but are not limited to, those mentioned above.

2. Application Process

All new clients are required to complete and submit an application form, which must be reviewed and confirmed by SITCo to initiate a binding contract between the parties. SITCo will endeavor to provide confirmation as soon as possible once submited.

3. Privacy and Confidentiality

All personal information collected by SITCo will be handled confidentially and in compliance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and other applicable privacy laws.

4. Age Requirement

Clients must be at least 18 years of age before the start of the course, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing at SITCo’s discretion.

5. Certification Body and Course Outcome

Qualifications are awarded by the New Zealand Snowsports Instructors Alliance (NZSIA) and Snowboard Instruction New Zealand (SBINZ), the official snowsports certification bodies in New Zealand. As independent organisations, they determine a pass/fail status based solely on your performance. While SITCo facilitates training to help you achieve these standards, we cannot guarantee certification.

6. Skill Assessment and Program Adjustment

If, at the start of the program, SITCo determines that your skiing or riding ability does not align with the level declared in your application, we will inform you and suggest alternative options. This assessment does not alter the terms of this contract unless SITCo decides otherwise at its sole discretion.

7. Insurance Requirement and Liability

You are responsible for obtaining full medical and snowsport insurance, covering injury, illness, repatriation, deportation, or other emergencies. SITCo shall not be liable for any costs or expenses incurred due to injury, sickness, or accident during the course, nor will refunds be issued if a student leaves the course for any reason before completion.

8. Attendance and Responsibility

It is your responsibility to attend and engage in all scheduled learning activities facilitated by SITCo, including on-snow training and evening sessions. Attendance records will be maintained by SITCo for monitoring purposes, and any non-attendance is solely your responsibility.

9. Subcontractors and External Service Providers

While SITCo coordinates with subcontractors to facilitate certain services, any disputes with these third-party providers must be addressed directly with them. SITCo can, however, provide assistance in communicating with subcontractors where feasible. You must comply with the rules and regulations set forth by any subcontractor.

10. Program Cancellation and Refunds

SITCo reserves the right to cancel any program if minimum participation requirements are not met. Should such a cancellation occur, SITCo will notify you in writing as soon as possible and provide a full refund of any payments made. Please note that SITCo is not responsible for any expenses incurred outside of our program, including but not limited to travel, accommodation, or insurance costs.
