Ideal courses if you already your Level 2 qualifications. We will help you explore opportunities to work at the internationally renowned Snowsports Schools of Coronet Peak and The Remarkables followed by a structured training program to take you to the next level in your Snowsports pathway.

International Visitors into New Zealand

If you wish to visit New Zealand and take part in one of our courses, you need to consider which passport you have and which course you are looking at.

Most of our courses can be done with a straightforward visitors visa. A lot of passport holders don’t even need to apply for a visa, have a look at the list of visa waiver countries.

Work & Train Courses – Important

If you are looking at Work & Train course with us, or you would like to work when you are in New Zealand, then you will need to obtain a valid work visa, or have the right to work in NZ. The New Zealand government grants a lot of Working Holiday Scheme visas which can be a great option.

Ski & Snowboard Work & Train with your Level 2

Work & Train courses are for Level 2 qualified skiers & snowboarders to come to Queenstown, and gain experience working for the internationally renown Snowsports Schools of Coronet Peak and The Remarkables.

This includes a formal recruitment and interview process with the Snowsports School.

After working the busy holiday period of the NZ season, then settle in to a structured training program that will take you to the next level of performance in your skiing and teaching. Possibility to sit and gain your Level 3 qualification.

Arrive in Queenstown before the season starts and be part of the hype and buzz of opening day at Coronet Peak and The Remarkables.

The Work & Train course is perfect if you already have your Level 2 qualification and are looking to further your pathway in the snowsports industry.
To be eligible to apply for the Work & Train course – you must have the right to work in New Zealand or be able to get your own working visa to work in New Zealand.

A Working Holiday Scheme Visa is a good option to explore.

No Sponsored Visas are available.

You will have accommodation for the whole duration of the course, full seasons pass for two of NZ’s premier ski resorts – Coronet Peak & The Remarkables. You will have access to transport to either resort whenever you want.

Work & Train with your Level 2

Gain experience working in a busy international snowsports school

Opportunity for Level 2 qualified Ski Instructors to come to Queenstown and Work for Coronet Peak and The Remarkables Snowsports School.

This is a fantastic opportunity if you have your Level 2 for you to come to Queenstown, work, and then train to develop your performance skiing.

This unique program gives all successful applicants a full-time job with the Snowsports School with onboarding and ready-to-work training beginning in early  June, and then after working the busy holiday period, you will train full-time in a dedicated ISIA-level 3 training program.

Work: 21st June

Employment sign up

Work: 24th June - 20th July 2024

When working you will be paid as a full employee

Training: 22nd July - 3rd Sept 2024

Train for your Level 3 - this can be NZSIA/SBINZ L3 or overseas L3.
Training days, and structure may vary depending on goal and objectives.

Optional : NZSIA/SBINZ Level 3 Pre-Courses & Workshops

Pre-Courses and Workshops are required if you wish to sit the NZSIA/SBINZ Level 3 exams and gain the qualification.

You will need to have a recognised Level 2 Ski Instructor qualification. This can be NZSIA Level 2 or BASI, CSIA, PSIA Level 2.

You will need to have the right to work in New Zealand.

You must have your own work visa.

To be accepted to work at the Snowsports School you will be required to enter into the employment process with NZSki including filling in application forms and a job interview. We will guide you through this process.

Taking part in the SITCo Work & Train course will create opportunities for you to work, business levels dependent,  as a ski instructor.

If successful you will be a fully employed member of the Snowsports School, and you will get paid at the rate organised by the employer at the time of taking you on.

It is very hard to say exactly how much you will be paid as each instructor gets paid individually based on an hourly rate, based on their performance levels, and based on the type of work they are doing.

When you are an employee full terms and conditions of your employment will be in force.

First thing you need to do is to make an Online Application from the SITCo website.

Once you have submitted an application a member of the SITCo team will be in touch and we will ask for evidence of previous qualifications, and your work visa.

You will then take apart in the training course that you have chosen. After that and depending on buisness levels the Snowsports School will be ready to take to you, and begin the formal employment process.
