Ski & Snowboard Internships are normally open to the world, and people come from all over the globe to enjoy a winter season in New Zealand.

Ski & Snowboard Internships

For good skiers to come to Queenstown, become qualified Ski Instructors and work in between qualifications. Opportunities like this don’t come along very often and spaces are limited. Arrive in Queenstown before the season starts and be part of the hype and buzz of opening day at Coronet Peak and The Remarkables.

This course is perfect if you have a reasonable level of skiing and a strong desire to work as an instructor. To be eligible to apply for the Ski Internship Course – you must have the right to work in New Zealand or be able to get you own working visa to work in New Zealand.

No Sponsored Visas available. All applicants must also go through a full employment process to be successfully accepted on to the program.

You will have accommodation for the whole duration of the course, full seasons pass for two of NZ’s premier ski resorts – Coronet Peak & The Remarkables. You will have a full 7 day a week transport pass to go to either resort when ever you want. Plus lots more…

Internship

Level 2

Internship

Do you have your Level 1 qualification already? Come to Queenstown, work as a Ski Instructor and train for your Level 2 qualification.

The SITCo Ski Instructor Level 2 Internship includes training for your Level 2 instructor qualifications and the opportunity to work in the Southern Hemisphere’s premier ski resorts as an instructor. SITCo’s Level 2 Ski Internship course is an ideal way for you to get into the ski instructing industry and try it out. You will get to train with the best and get work experience that will open ski industry doors around the world.

Level 3

Internship

Opportunity for Level 2 qualified Ski Instructors to come to Queenstown and Work for Coronet Peak and The Remarkables Snowsports School.

This is a fantastic opportunity if you have your Level 2 for you to come to Coronet Peak, work, and then train to develop your performance skiing. 6 weeks full time paid ski instructor work….then 7 weeks Performance Training.

This unique program gives all successful applicants a full time job with the Snowsports School (6 weeks), and then after that you will train full time in a dedicated ISIA level training course.

Work: June - September 2022

You will be paid as a full time Snowboard Instructor during this time.

Training: July - Sept 2022

Train for your Level 3 - this can be NZSIA/SBINZ L3 or overseas L3.

You will need to have a recognised Level 2 Ski Instructor qualification. This can be NZSIA Level 2 or APSI, BASI, CSIA, PSIA Level 2.

You will need to have the right to work in New Zealand.

You must have your own work visa.

To be accepted to work at the Snowsports School you will be required to enter into the employment process with NZSki including filling in application forms and a job interview. We will guide you through this process.

You will be a full time employee of the Coronet Peak or The Remarkables Snowsports School. You will be employed for 6 weeks.
Therefore you will need to apply for the SITCo L3 Ski Internship and then take part in a full employment interview.

There are exclusive employment opportunities when you are on the SITCo Ski L3 Internship.

You will be fully employed members of the Snowsports School, and you will get paid at the rate organised by the employer at the time of taking you on.

It is very hard to say exactly how much you will be paid as each instructor gets paid individually based on an hourly rate, based on their performance levels, and based on the type of work they are doing.

When you are an employee full terms and conditions of your employment will be in force.

First thing you need to do is to make an Online Application from the SITCo website. Simply go to online booking page...

Once you have submitted an application a member of the SITCo team will be in touch and we will ask for evidence of previous qualifications, and your work visa.

Your application will then be passed on to the HR department of Coronet Peak Snowsports School. Once you pass through the first phases of the application process you will then be required to complete and take a job interview.

The successful candidates will then be chosen.
